Best Sorcerer Subclass Bg3

The Sorcerer in Baldur's Gate 3

A Guide to the Best Feats and Subclasses

Feats

Every four levels, you'll get the option to either increase your stats or choose a Feat. Feats are special talents that add new abilities or enhance existing ones. For the Sorcerer, some of the best Feats include:

  • War Caster: This Feat allows you to cast spells with somatic components even when you're wielding a weapon or shield, and it gives you advantage on Concentration checks when you're taking damage.
  • Resilient: Constitution: This Feat increases your Constitution score by 1, and it gives you proficiency in Constitution saving throws. This is a great choice for Sorcerers who want to be more durable and avoid losing concentration on their spells.
  • Metamagic Adept: This Feat gives you two additional Metamagic options, and it reduces the cost of using Metamagic by 1 sorcery point. This is a great choice for Sorcerers who want to get the most out of their Metamagic abilities.

Subclasses

The Sorcerer in Baldur's Gate 3 has three subclasses to choose from:

Draconic Bloodline

The Draconic Bloodline subclass gives Sorcerers access to a number of powerful abilities, including:

  • Draconic Resilience: This ability gives Sorcerers resistance to a specific damage type, depending on their chosen Draconic Ancestry.
  • Elemental Adept: This ability gives Sorcerers a bonus to damage rolls when they cast spells of a specific damage type, depending on their chosen Draconic Ancestry.
  • Draconic Wings: This ability allows Sorcerers to sprout wings and fly for a limited time.

Wild Magic

The Wild Magic subclass gives Sorcerers access to a number of unpredictable and chaotic abilities, including:

  • Wild Surge: This ability triggers a random magical effect whenever the Sorcerer casts a spell with a spell slot of 1st level or higher.
  • Tides of Chaos: This ability gives the Sorcerer a bonus to their next attack roll or ability check after they roll a natural 1 on a Wild Surge.
  • Bend Luck: This ability allows the Sorcerer to reroll a die roll, but they must accept the second result, even if it is worse than the first.

Divine Soul

The Divine Soul subclass gives Sorcerers access to a number of divine spells and abilities, including:

  • Favored by the Gods: This ability gives the Sorcerer a bonus to saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
  • Blessing of the Gods: This ability allows the Sorcerer to cast the Bless spell once per long rest.
  • Empowered Healing: This ability gives the Sorcerer's healing spells a bonus to their healing rolls.
