Rain Policies at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure
No Rain Checks or Refunds for Inclement Weather
All days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are considered "rain or shine" days, meaning that the parks will remain open regardless of weather conditions. Therefore, rain checks or refunds are not issued if it rains during your visit.
Enjoy the Water Rides or Seek Indoor Options
If it rains during your visit, you can still enjoy the three water rides in Islands of Adventure: Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, and Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. These rides are designed to get you wet, so they're perfect for rainy days.
Additionally, consider exploring the indoor attractions at Universal Studios, such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley, Transformers: The Ride-3D, and MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™. These rides and attractions are unlikely to close due to weather.
Plan Ahead and Pack for Rain
If you're visiting Islands of Adventure and are concerned about rain, pack a poncho or umbrella. Florida's weather can be unpredictable, and rain showers can occur at any time.
Consider bringing a change of clothes or wearing moisture-wicking clothing to stay comfortable if you get wet.
Monitor the Weather Forecast
Before your visit, check the weather forecast for Orlando. If there is a high chance of rain, consider visiting during the morning or early afternoon when there is less likelihood of rain.
Visit Islands of Adventure Early
Islands of Adventure has more outdoor rides than Universal Studios, so it's a good idea to visit early in the day to avoid getting caught in the rain.
Hagrid's and VelociCoaster Operations in Rain
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Jurassic World VelociCoaster are outdoor rides and may close temporarily during heavy rain. However, they typically reopen once the rainfall subsides.
Severe Weather Conditions
In the event of severe weather conditions, such as lightning or thunderstorms, all rides and attractions will close for safety reasons. If a hurricane or tropical storm is approaching, Universal Orlando guests can contact guest services within 7 days to reschedule or cancel their vacation package.
