United flew out of the blocks to secure their first win of the season and leapfrog their old enemy in the Premier League table
Marcus Rashford ended a run of 997 minutes without a goal in all competitions for Manchester United as the Red Devils beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Monday night.
Rashford had not scored since the final day of last season, but he ended his drought in style with a stunning strike from outside the box.
United flew out of the blocks and took the lead after just five minutes when Jadon Sancho fired home from close range.
Liverpool equalised through Mohamed Salah, but Rashford's goal proved to be the winner.
The victory was United's first of the season and it lifted them above Liverpool in the Premier League table.
United will now look to build on their positive start to the season when they face Southampton in their next match.
