Robert Downey Jr. is set to star in the upcoming film 'Dolittle', based on the beloved children's book series of the same name. Downey Jr. will play the titular role of Dr. John Dolittle, a veterinarian who can talk to animals. The film also stars Antonio Banderas as King Rassouli, Michael Sheen as Mr. Müffling, and Jim Broadbent as Lord Thomas Bingley.
After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey) lives in solitude behind the high walls of his lush manor in 19th-century England. His only companionship comes from an array of exotic animals. But when the Queen falls ill, Dolittle is forced to set out on a journey to find a cure, accompanied by his animal friends.
